Bobbi's Paper Trail: A Play with Christmas

A few weeks ago, my stamping friends and I decided to do a swap. Each of us designs a card, and we cut the number of "kits" we need so everyone can make it. I love our swaps because even if we don't have a theme, it's still fun to see the different creativity of everyone and how they put their card together.

In July, we decided to do Christmas in July. We can use any supplies we have on hand, and it doesn't matter where the supplies came from. Although most of us are Stampin' Up! demonstrators, we have quite an inventory of supplies on hand from other craft companies. I decided to use up some "oldies but goodies" retired products from Stampin' Up! We all have a lot of those too! 😉 Here's my cards:

I went searching through my designer paper stash and found a few sheets of this Christmas Toile. I love the "old world charm" of this paper. These sheets come in Garden Green print with the Garden Green stripe on the reverse side. There's also a Real Red print and the red stripe is on the reverse side of that.

I made four designs, so the girls could choose which one they wanted to make. These were fast and easy to make and I used coordinating cardstock as a mat on the main image, on a Very Vanilla cardstock base.

For the main sentiment, I chose to pull out some Gold, Red and Copper metallic sheets and cut out and embossed 3 envelopes full of sentiments for them to choose. The dies used are also retired unfortunately, but now I have 3 envelopes full of different Christmas sentiments to make more.

In my next post, I will show you the cards the ladies made. We love to do swaps, and meeting weekly keeps us all together and having fun in this crazy world.
