Hello and welcome! Would you believe that this week leads us into the last of the retired items and into a brand new annual catalog on May 4th? It amazes me how fast the year goes. Ask me how many stamps and bundles I have that haven't seen paper....quite a few I'm afraid. Today's card is one of those and although it doesn't have any matching dies, my paper snips did the trick here. Soar Confidently is a set that I just couldn't wait to buy; it has an "old world" feel to me. I'm sad that I didn't get to use it much, but you can be sure, it's staying at my house and I'll continue to use it after May 4th.
My card inspiration actually came from the 2020-21 annual catalog. There's a few cards that were made by our design team to show in the catalog, and I almost copied one exactly. I used the Old World designer series paper, and cut 3 pieces the same size and turned the middle piece over to have it as a contrast. My card base is Sahara Sand and a layer of Soft Suede makes the papers really pop. I stamped the balloon on Sahara Sand as well, in Early Espresso ink. I used my blender pen and a little bit of Misty Moonlight ink on a clear block, to color the stripes on the balloon. It's easy to blend the Early Espresso ink with the blender pen as well, giving depth. The clouds were made using our Ice Cream punch, turned upside down and snipped with my paper scissors to resemble the fluffiness of the clouds. I used Wink of Stella on the clouds too, although it's a bit hard to see in the photo. Here's my card:
