I'm sure you've seen cards like this on the internet and Pinterest. It's made using the new Scallop Tag Topper punch and although there are several variations of how to ensure your tabs are lined up evenly, I went with my own version. After cutting the card base to size and before I scored it, I gently rolled the card stock up to meet each edge, and inserted both ends into the punch at the same time. It's a bit tricky to get the double card stock under the punch, but it can be done and it's quick and easier for me, rather than measuring or using a pencil to make tic marks. :-) The stamp set is the soon to be retired Pure Gumption and I used Sweet Sorbet designer paper as well. Gorgeous Grunge was used to make all those colorful spots; ink pads used are: Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit. I usually try to let my designer paper tell me what colors to use. Hint: On the back of the cardboard wrapper is the list of what colors go with the designer paper.
A new stamp set called "Walk in the Wild" is just perfect for a guy card. Crumb Cake card base with the Neutrals Designer Series Paper pack (also in Crumb Cake) just go so well together. I wanted to add a little more "wildness" to the card, so a quick trip down the side with 2 pieces of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Washi Tape is just the right touch. I haven't used washi tape before, but it could be my new best friend. It doesn't stick to itself and it's so forgiving. If you lay it down on your card and you decide you don't want it there, it pulls up quite easily and doesn't tear your card stock. I love it! And the good news is... it's NOT retiring, so it's available in the new catalog that starts June 2nd.
We did make 2 more cards, and I'll post them next week. In the meantime, if you do not currently have a Stampin Up! Demonstrator, please email me or check out my website. I'll be happy to get you a new catalog pronto! Have a great week!
