I'm back with another Halloween card...after all, it's the season, right? Today's card was CASE'd from Dawn Olcshefske's blog www.DOstampingwithdawn.com When I saw her card, I just knew I had to try this technique. It's called masking (and blending with sponges). When I see a card I really like, I borrow some of the ideas, but usually put my own spin on it. Not this time. I loved Dawn's card so much, that we made it exactly like hers when the girls came over Saturday, for a stamp camp. The only difference is, I didn't have the same die she used for her fence, so I just used my scallop border punch instead. To view her video, go to her website and click on Free Library. Then click on Stamp Techniques. Then scroll down until you see Moonlighting Cat on Fence Video.
Dawn, thanks for a great card and your wonderful inspiriration. ! I hope I did your creation proud!
The one above is my first attempt; it turned out a little more color intense. But I like it.
The one below was what I did at the stamp camp; I made it just a little lighter but I think works out just as well. I love this technique! It's like counted cross stitch....you start with a blank canvas and have no idea how it will turn out until you pull that sticky note away. What a fun card to make! :-)
